Who are we?

Hey there, fellow adventurer! Welcome aboard! First of all, thank you for giving us this chance to be a small part of your life’s adventure and we hereby promise to make this journey the most exciting one for you.

Oh, where are our manners? Hello! We are Parth and Shubham – Brothers from another mothers, born just a week apart, in a quaint town called Ukai, in the most local part of the state of Gujarat in India. And if you haven’t guessed it yet, Yes! We are the two genius minds behind this most revolutionary travel venture (LOL) – World Is Local. (Gave us chills just writing that name)

Before telling you what all that fuss is about, let us walk you through our journey a bit.

Who the Hell Are We?

Have you ever had that person who you are just inseparable from? Well, if you have not, we are very sorry because we can’t feel you even a bit. Because, that is exactly what we were and are – Inseparable. Even though responsibilities took Parth to Toronto, Canada and Shubham to Mumbai, India, nothing could shake our friendship. Life’s twists and turns tried to pull us apart at almost every three to four years, but we idiots were Fevicol (well, ifykyk), still stuck to each other. And out of all the carbon atoms there was one particular bond that kept us up and running together – our common dream.

Dreaming With Open Eyes

To begin with, we don’t dream big, we dream colossal! Our shared passion? You put us on a lie detector and ask this question again and again and there will be just one right answer – To explore every nook and cranny of this breathtaking planet that we call home. And when we say that we want to travel the world it’s not just about the tourist traps and we mean it. We crave for the deepest and rawest form of the world that surrounds us. We crave for the locales. We want to dive headfirst into the soul of every destination, in its essence, its culture, its people, its cuisine. And that’s how we met our baby – World Is Local.

World Is Local – What?

Hey you guys, what’s the philosophy behind this journey, you ask? Well, buckle up, because it’s about to get deeeeeeeeeep. As the name suggests, we are all heart for the locals. We like to reach the corners of the circular world (Sorry! Flat Earthers) and soak in the untouched beauty.

You already know how we were born and raised in the small town of Ukai and that led us to many unexplored and hidden places around us, just out of our curiosity and the keeda(worm) for adventure. But, you also know how life took us to Mumbai and Toronto, the mega cities, where we became more of a tourist than a traveller. Exploring all the touristy places, doing everything that an outsider will do became our daily routine. After a substantial amount of time, the Ukai struck back to us, and we got more interested in the locals than the glamour of these mega cities. To our amazement it was way more beautiful than what we have ever imagined. That was the fuel for showing the local world around us to everyone.  

Also, let us get you in on a secret. When abbreviated, World Is Local becomes W.I.L., which spells out WIL. And it isn’t just a catchy acronym – it’s our way of life. It’s about our unfiltered WIL to chase dreams, conquer fears and explore the unexplored. It’s about saying ‘Yes’ to every opportunity, every challenge, every adventure that comes our way. It’s about living life to the fullest.

We are warriors on a mission to reveal the beating heart of every destination. It’s about getting down and dirty (metaphorically, of course) with the locals, soaking up every ounce of culture, cuisine and community spirit. Simple, Authentic.
